We are living in stressful times. Each day brings with it more bad news about the economy, housing prices, and unemployment. Americans from all walks of life are scrambling to hold on to what they have financially. As investments are decreasing in value it is difficult to know what to do with our money and how to insure that we have enough to live comfortably now and later in life. Unfortunately, we as individuals can’t control our economy but we can focus on one thing that can possibly bring us wealth both literally and spiritually: our health.
The cost of healthcare in the United States has been rising exponentially for years yet at the same time the average American is becoming less healthy. We are a country full of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. The cost to treat these diseases is overwhelming both state and federal budgets, as well as increasing health insurance premiums. Healthcare spending has increased from $700 billion in 1985 to almost $2 trillion in 2008. Both our healthcare system and our economy need an overhaul, but how best to do this? Focusing on preventative health, rather than costly treatments, will reduce medical costs and keep money in our pocket. Investing a small amount of money to keep from getting sick is much more cost effective than trying to undo the damage after a diagnosis. In other words, health brings wealth.
In the TIME magazine article “From Health to Wealth”, Bruce Pyenson, a health consultant actuary is quoted as saying “Good health has a value in dollars”. He notes that a healthy person’s retirement savings should be ten times their final salary but a person with a chronic disease needs significantly more money to pay for healthcare costs in retirement.
Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic care fits into the model of cost-effective preventative care that will save tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in the long run. A study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine in 2004 compared costs of healthcare between patients with chiropractic coverage and those without. The authors concluded that access to chiropractic care may reduce healthcare costs when compared to traditional medical care.
Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic adjustments allow the nervous system, and therefore the body, to function optimally. Removing nervous system interference by correcting subluxations has been shown to positively affect the immune system, gastrointestinal system, cardiovascular system, improve joint health, and increase energy. When your nervous system is functioning optimally your body is able to better handle the physical, emotional, and chemical stresses of life that, with a compromised nervous system, may result in sickness and disease.
Committing to a chiropractic lifestyle now will pay dividends both in your body and in your pocketbook! Do not be like the majority in our country who work the first two thirds of their lives to accumulate wealth while sacrificing their health and then spend the last one third of their lives spending everything they saved to get back what they lost while trying to build wealth…Invest in your health today!

That was dead on. Our society is so focused on a down-above-outside-in concept of health that if you don’t have some kind of chronic disease, people raise an eyebrow at you. And that’s normal to them! We have some work to do.
Nice Site layout for your blog. I am looking forward to reading more from you.

When the atlas has been shifted where is should be under the skull it creates a log jam of information from getting from the brain to the body. This log jam mechanically and neurologically causes the spine to contort in an attempt to compensate for the log jam at the top of the spine. The nerves pass extremely close to the atlas. That is why x rays are necessary to know exactly how much force is needed and in what direction this force is applied to correctly position the atlas so this log jam of information to the body is restored. This log jam of nerve information is likened to a person having carpal tunnel syndrome in your wrist, but the nerve interference is in your neck. The contorting of the spine begins to close down openings at various parts of the spine causing the same kind of effect to various parts of the body. Only an upper cervical specific care only doctor scientific instrumentation can determine if such an imbalance is present or not. That is why being checked early in life is extremely important. Even infants can have the beginnings of a problem from a traumatic birth. In fact, a large number of adults can have a problem that has grown worse over the years stemming from the day they were born.
This kind of heath care will actually help people .
Great article!! So true, if we just followed more of a preventative lifestyle and took care of our main connection between brain and body we would only have to worry about catastrophic injuries. Think of the savings!!
I am so glad that someone has spoken out about this issue. A common untrue belief is that paying cash for your healthcare needs costs more then having your insurance pay, but in reality if you spend what is necessary on preventing a long life of sickness, then you will inevitably be saving enough money to retire comfortably on.
Thank you for bringing this to light!
When you walk thru a major “health care providing” facility there are lots of people and not very many smiles because people have waited until the last minute to take care of themself. When people leave, typically not any happier, they leave, plus they have just spent money on the office visit and the prescriptions they will have to take.
When you walk thru a good preventative care facility you will see more smiles because people have found soltutions to get thrive in life. The cost of a solution is priceless.
